Alvin College Foundation Gala – Destination: Opportunity

The Alvin College Foundation will celebrate its 27th Annual Gala, Destination: Opportunity, on Friday, November 13, raising funds to support student scholarships, innovative grants, emergency assistance, program support and other opportunities for Alvin College students and programs.

The event will be held at South Shore Harbour Resort in League City.

“So many of our students come to Alvin College in hopes of seizing an opportunity to improve their lives,” said Wendy Del Bello, Foundation executive director. “The Alvin College Foundation hopes to provide those students with whatever support they need to meet those opportunities.”

Festivities begin with a social reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner, a live auction and dancing with music from DJ Matt Weaver.

Adding to this year’s cruise-inspired theme, the Foundation will also offer a raffle for a vacation cruise. Raffle tickets will be available in advance of the Gala, and presence at the event is not required for the drawing.

Funds raised through the Gala help the Foundation provide scholarships to Alvin College students as well as Innovative Initiative grants, emergency assistance, awards and support for programs across campus. This year, the Foundation provided nearly $392,638 in scholarships, grants, awards and program support benefiting Alvin College students, employees and programs.

Gala seating is limited, and early reservations are encouraged. Several sponsorship levels are available, and individual tickets are $125.

The Foundation is also seeking donations for the Gala’s live auction.
