ACC to Host Sustainable Stories Film and Art Exhibit

Alvin Community College and the University of Houston Clear Lake will host the Sustainable Stories Film and Art Festival throughout October and November at each campus.
The festival will include 30 short films and visual art pieces inspired by creating a more sustainable world. ACC will host the film and art exhibits from October 1-31. The show will move to UHCL and will be on display November 7 to December 7.
“This exhibit is about bringing our community together,” said Angela Duron-Larson, ACC Visual Arts coordinator. “We know there are so many people in the community who are interested in sustainability.”
This is the fourth film festival which started at UHCL. This is the first year that ACC will also host a portion of the exhibit.
The ACC Theatre will host a screening of some of the films on October 25 at 7 p.m.
The exhibit is still seeking contributions for the visual art pieces. The deadline to contribute is September 25.
“We will accept entries for film and painting, sculptures, drawing, design, anything that has to do with sustainability and making our lives and our planet more sustainable,” said Michael Brims, UCHL professor in Communications and Digital Media.
