Pearland Convention and Visitors Bureau Officially Becomes Visit Pearland

Pearland, Texas (August 13, 2024) — The City of Pearland’s Convention and Visitors Bureau will now be known simply as Visit Pearland – a change that more accurately represents the work of the department’s dedicated staff. The switch to Visit Pearland reflects a state and nationwide shift in the rebranding of local CVBs as destination marketing organizations, or DMOs.

The City of Pearland department has operated under the Visit Pearland brand since its inception in 2013. “It’s a natural transition after reaching our decade milestone,” said Tracy Rohrbacher, Executive Director of Visit Pearland. “Presenting under the one title moving forward will help clarify both our brand and our mission.”

Visit Pearland’s primary goal is to attract visitors, generate overnight stays, and boost the local economy of Pearland through marketing and promotion, tourism development, leisure and sports events, and visitor services. The 2023 fiscal year marked a significant achievement for Visit Pearland as it surpassed all previous records for generating annual hotel occupancy tax revenue. Since the inception of the organization the Pearland shopping scene has flourished, hundreds of restaurants have planted their roots, and numerous initiatives have debuted from the Visit Pearland office including the popular Pear-Scape Sculpture Trail, a resurgence in sports tourism, and several marketing efforts including the Pearland Mural Tour and the Sip and Save Beverage Trail.

Partner events like the Pearland Boutique Shop and Hop and Pearland Restaurant Weeks continue to be benchmarks for destination growth and the city’s very first Cultural Arts Master Plan is currently in the works with objectives to invigorate the arts and culture community in Pearland through the next 10 years. Visit Pearland has played a large role in sports tourism by attracting an increasing number of sports tournament rights holders to choose the city as their host destination.

“Supporting the city of Pearland through its evolution this past decade has been very rewarding,” said Rohrbacher. “There have been changes through the years, but the core of our work remains the same; Pearland is an attractive, destination city and its our role to celebrate and promote it as such.”
