BC’s celebrates students at Catalyst program’s Signing & Promotion Day
LAKE JACKSON — Brazosport College’s Catalyst program recently held its Signing & Promotion Day Ceremony with 89 students either graduating, advancing or joining the program.

A total of 17 students made up the Catalyst Accelerate program’s 2024 graduating class. These students, who earned associate degrees, include instrumentation graduates 
Caleb Castle, Benjamin Garcia, Caleb Garcia, Joziah Jauregui, Rigo Lozano, Cutter Schuerg, Ashley Shugart and De’Anthony White, and chemical technology graduates Rolando Gonzalez, Riley Jones, Miguel Lomeli, Andrew Madrigal, Gavin Nelson, Miguel Ramirez, Braxton Rollo, Garrett Virgel, Mason Wallace and Kristopher Whitley.

Students advancing to the Accelerate program’s second year include chemical technology students Justin Alsobrook, Declan Anderson, Nevaeh Bradshaw, Keagan Conaway, Toshianna Edwards, Alexander Garibaldi, Zak Graham, Andrew Lindsey, Marcos Martinez, Brady McCann and Noah McDaniel, and instrumentation students Holden Bullock, Stephen Calhoun, Ayden Choate-Luna, Skyler Deptuch, Matthew Garces, Chase Lamb, Aidan Marks, Karen Reyna, Charles Riggs, Dakoda Robertson and Gauge Smith.


A total of 34 students were also accepted into the Accelerate program and were celebrated with a formal signing.

 
Developed through a partnership between Angleton ISD, Brazosport ISD, Columbia-Brazoria ISD, Sweeny ISD and Brazosport College, the Catalyst Accelerate program allows qualified students to take a structured path toward the completion of an associate degree in Process Operations or Instrumentation Technology within one year of high school graduation. Students start the program during their junior year of high school.

 
 
Students officially entering into the program included Angleton High School’s Tarryn Garcia, Emilio Hinojosa, Marvin Lopez, Josue Martinez, Cole McCall, Axel Ramos, Brock Rieck and Eduardo Rodriguez Flores; Brazosport High School’s Julieth Garcia Cedillo, Henry Headrick, Rafael Lopez III, Christian Rivera and Jamarcos Woodard; Brazoswood High School’s Dominic Dice, Jordan Gonzales, Kaiden Khoathong, Layton Kopycinski, Arturo Luevano, Gavin Marks, Brody Matula and Mason Sharp; Columbia High School’s Luke Breazeale, Oliver Davidson, Yesenia Figueroa, Andrew Flores, Caleb Jensen, John Salinas, Brody Sills and Hunter Slough; and Sweeny High School’s Jennie Fuentes, Lorelei Hempsmyer, Erin Hunt, Brayden Kelley, Wyatt Tso and Benjamin Webber.

The ceremony also introduced the new Catalyst Ignite program. Catalyst Ignite is a one-year program in which high school graduates can receive a basic certificate or equivalent credit hours in one of 10 high-wage, in-demand pathways.

A total of 39 students were accepted into the new Ignite program. Students entering the program included chemical technology students Ellis Ford II, David Hinojosa, Eli Kacal, Gabriel Keith, Reagan Larsen, Gael Lopez, Samuel Manzano, Angelica Sanchez, Dylan Smith, Aaron Soto and Rebecca Woodrome; cybersecurity students Tysen Cavaness and Valery De La Cruz and Isabel Klinect; drafting students Jimmy O’Neil and Dominic Orellana; heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology students Aiden Hatfield and Kaleb Kovacevich; I&C construction management students Jose Delgado and Courtney Homniok; I&C electrical technology students Jaime Cancino Jr., Janie Godoy, Adrian Hernandez, Chance Palmer and Sherman Wade; instrumentation students Ernesto Arroyo, Emmanuel Cuevas, Juan Hernandez, Juan Morales, Jordan Moreno, Cesar Navarro and Q’onis Wilmore; and welding students Manuel Davilla, Layden Flores, Javier Garcia, Arian Garcia-Carrasco, Cynthia Gaytan, Nathan Leal and Christopher Velazquez.
