Alvin College Regents Approve Audit
Alvin Community College was given high marks for fiscal responsibility from a recent audit that was given to the Board of Regents during their meeting on February 19.
The audit was performed by Crowe, LLP which issued an unmodified opinion for the 2024-25 fiscal year, the highest assurance of fiscal compliance from the college. The audit showed the college’s net position to be approximately $30.44 million.
In other action, regents approved several board policy updates in order to comply with new laws passed by the Texas Legislature. The policy updates included changes to college district governance, personnel management, artificial intelligence, campus construction and many more. They policy is available on the college website www.alvinvcollege.edu.
Regents also:
-approved guidelines for public-private partnerships
-approved hiring of Biology faculty, Dual Enrollment advisor and pathways advisor
-received annual racial profiling report
-approved monthly financial reports
The board will have its next meeting on March 26 at 6 p.m. at the Nolan Ryan Center.
