Alvin College Board Approves Architectural Firm
The Alvin College Board of Regents approved selection of an architectural and engineering firm in order to move forward with a $30 million maintenance note for campus upgrades during their November 20 meeting.
The board selected Stantec Inc. to oversee upgrades such as the college's mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, façade improvements and technology and security systems.
The maintenance note was approved by regents in September. They also approved the issuance of the notes during the November 20 meeting.
Stantec will begin with seeking input from staff members before pursuing designs for the upgrades.
Regents also:
-approved new seal with college name
-approved hires for EMS clinical coordinator, Economics faculty, Manufacturing faculty, research assistant and a campus police sargeant
-approved hire of Dean of General Education and Academic Support Dr. Haley Lovell
-approved monthly financial reports
The board will have its next meeting on January 15 at 6 p.m. in the Nolan Ryan Center.
