ACC to Host Back to Campus Friday
Alvin Community College will give students a chance to find their classes, meet with staff members and get ready for the semester during its first Back to Campus Friday on August 16.
Students will have an opportunity to take care of any final preparations for the upcoming semester including finalizing the admissions process, registering for classes, changing their schedule, visiting with an advisor and more.
“Last year, we were able to help over 500 new and returning ACC students prepare for the fall semester at Back to Campus Friday,” said Amanda Smithson, ACC director of Recruitment and Enrollment. “We are excited to offer this opportunity to students again this year.”
Back to Campus Friday will be an all-day event from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Food, t-shirts and Scantrons will be provided throughout the day to participating students.
Students who come to Back to Campus Friday will also entered in a drawing for a $500 scholarship.
Registration for the Fall 2024 semester is now open and will close on August 20. Late registration with a $50 fee will be August 21-25. Classes begin on August 26.
In addition to finishing the enrollment process, Back to Campus Friday will also feature tours conducted by the Pathway Peer Leaders. Students can bring their schedules to find their classes, visit the bookstore to purchase books, stop by the Cyberlab, tour the Fitness Center, get a glimpse of the Learning Commons and find out about tutoring, get their parking pass with Campus Police and learn more about Student Life. In addition, students will be able to complete the TSI exam for free.
