ACC Regents Approve 2024-25 Tax Rate
The regents approved a 15.6 cent tax rate per $100 of property value, which is a half-cent more than the previous year’s rate. The tax rate will include 14.9 cents for the Maintenance and Operations budget with .7 cents for Interest and Sinking.
The rate was approved 7-2 with regent chair ‘Bel Sanchez, vice chair Jody Droege, secretary Dr. Patty Hertenberger, Darren Shelton, Dr. Jim Crumm, Michael Hoover and Yvette-Reyes Hall voting for it. Regents Breah Knape and Mike Pyburn voted against.
In other action, regents approved the creation of the Center for Excellence for Legal Studies, Law Enforcement Academy, Criminal Justice and Public Service. The new center will oversee several programs on campus including the Law Enforcement Academy, Paralegal, Criminal Justice and EMS.

-approved hiring of executive director of the Legal Studies position
-approved hiring for staff members in Advising, Student Life, Allied Health and Physical Plant
-approved candidate nominations for Brazoria County Appraisal District
-approved monthly financial reports
The board will have its next meeting on October 17, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Nolan Ryan Center.
