ACC Foundation to Host 25th Gala on November 8
The Alvin Community College Foundation invites everyone to “get their inner Parrothead on” for the 25th Annual Gala Fins Up!: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett on Friday, November 8.
The event will be held at South Shore Harbor Resort in League City.
“This year we are going to raise money for college students and staff while also celebrating the music of icon Jimmy Buffett,” said Wendy Del Bello, Foundation executive director. “This will be a fun event that will provide much-needed support for scholarships and ACC programs.”
Festivities begin with a social reception at 6 p.m. There will also be dinner, a live auction, a surprise pull and a “Grant-a-Rita” Bar. Throughout the evening, local Buffett tribute band Lost Shaker of Salt will be entertaining the crowd with his legendary hits.
In addition to scholarships, the Foundation also uses the funds to support the Innovative Initiative grants and other programs on campus. This year, the Foundation awarded over $200,000 in student scholarships, grants and awards to ACC students, staff and program support.
Seats for the Gala sell fast so get them early. Different levels of sponsorship are available and range from $10,000 to $1,000. Individual tickets are $100.
Donations are still being sought for the live auction.
