Alvin College Recognizes HS Students for “First 15”
Earning any college credit while in high school is a benefit for students as it gives them an opportunity to explore their higher education.
Alvin College Dual Enrollment staff members have been visiting local high school campuses recently and handing out cupcakes to recognize the 589 students who reached the 15-hour mark this year.
"To earn 15 hours of college credit is a remarkable achievement and gives these young students a head start on their college education,” said Dr. Jessica Ranero-Ramirez, dean of College Access and Partnerships.
ACC visited Pearland, Turner, Shadow Creek, Iowa Colony, Alvin and Manvel high schools.
“This has been a wonderful experience to recognize these students for their hard work.”
