ACC Receives TWC Grant

Alvin Community College received a check for a Texas Workforce Commission grant during a ceremony on June 11.
The $349,980 grant was issued through the Jobs and Education for Texans program from the Commission. The grant will fund the purchase and installation of a Pignat OTP-DC Distillation Unit which is vital for student training.
The JET program provides funding for equipment to eligible educational institutions for the purpose of developing career and technical education courses and may include courses offering dual-credit and technical education programs. Equipment funded through JET grants must be used to train students for jobs in high-demand occupations.
The grant awarded to ACC was one of 60 issued by the Texas Workforce Commission in December for a total of $15 million.
The Texas Workforce Commission is a state agency dedicated to helping Texas employers, workers and communities prosper economically.
