ACC Hosts Tails and Trails Event
Alvin Community College invites people and pups alike to the Tails and Trails event on September 27.
The event will celebrate the reopening of the 2-mile campus jogging trail after it recently underwent a complete renovation. For decades, the ACC jogging trail has been a place where neighbors meet, families walk and students recharge between classes.
In addition to a new surface for the trail, other improvements were added including new covered resting areas and planters, each featuring instructions for various exercises to encourage healthy living. The resting areas were supported by donors and sponsorships through the ACC Foundation.
Tails and Trails will include the unveiling of the trail and a wellness expo to showcase the many Allied Health programs at the college. The event will also include community vendors, healthy activities, giveaways and much more. There will also be information on animal adoption and free vaccines.
Among the vendors will be :Froberg Farms, Alvin Animal Shelter, Grit+Grind Coffee Shop, Alvin HotWorx, Lonestar Pawz Rescue, Three Little Pitties Rescue, Alvin Parks & Rec, Synergy Massage and Youth for Christ. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will also be on hand to collect blood donations.
Tails and Trails will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:30 on the jogging trail near the Nolan Ryan Center. The event is free and open to the public.
