Dear Community Partner,
We are pleased to invite you to the Sixth Annual Fall Harvest Gala on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at
6:00 p.m. at the DOW Academic Center. This year’s theme, “Shining Forth,” reflects our commitment
to illuminate hope, strengthen community, and inspire lasting impact together.
Thanks to your support, and the help of hundreds of volunteers, Harvest for the Hungry Texas has
served thousands of people with food insecurity in Brazoria County.
The mission of Harvest extends even beyond providing free, fresh produce to those in need. Over the
past year, Harvest for the Hungry has:
Donated over 17,000 pounds of food (9/2025 to 5/2026), fresh produce, jars of honey, and fresh
eggs, to local food banks and families
Completed the 2nd cohort of USDA Beginning Young Farmer & Rancher Development Program
Expanded cultivation goals through grant projects at local, state, and federal level.
Provided community wide educational opportunities including 156 classes.
Partnered with community organizations, church, and school groups in over 85 community
volunteer projects.
Successfully facilitated 6 Hunger Free Coalition of Brazoria County distribution events. Two
hundred forty children, 11 families and the ASCEND pantry were supported with 22,842 lbs of
packed and delivered food.
Held the 1 Back to School Health and Wellness day for students participating in the Coalition’s
Bridge the Gap Project.
Further invested in the local food system by implementing USDA Good Agriculture Practices in
farm-to-table processes completed in our new warehouse facility
Our vision to shine forth is bright and full of promise. The farm will continue to expand food
production, offer enrichment classes for all ages and backgrounds, deepen community engagement,
