DESCRIPTION:Dear Community Partner\,\nWe are pleased to invite you to the Sixth Annual Fall Harvest Gala on Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\, at\n6:00 p.m. at the DOW Academic Center. This year’s theme\, “Shining Forth\,” reflects our commitment\nto illuminate hope\, strengthen community\, and inspire lasting impact together.\nThanks to your support\, and the help of hundreds of volunteers\, Harvest for the Hungry Texas has\nserved thousands of people with food insecurity in Brazoria County.\nThe mission of Harvest extends even beyond providing free\, fresh produce to those in need. Over the\npast year\, Harvest for the Hungry has:\nDonated over 17\,000 pounds of food (9/2025 to 5/2026)\, fresh produce\, jars of honey\, and fresh\neggs\, to local food banks and families\nCompleted the 2nd cohort of USDA Beginning Young Farmer & Rancher Development Program\nExpanded cultivation goals through grant projects at local\, state\, and federal level.\nProvided community wide educational opportunities including 156 classes.\nPartnered with community organizations\, church\, and school groups in over 85 community\nvolunteer projects.\nSuccessfully facilitated 6 Hunger Free Coalition of Brazoria County distribution events. Two\nhundred forty children\, 11 families and the ASCEND pantry were supported with 22\,842 lbs of\npacked and delivered food.\nHeld the 1 Back to School Health and Wellness day for students participating in the Coalition’s\nBridge the Gap Project.\nFurther invested in the local food system by implementing USDA Good Agriculture Practices in\nfarm-to-table processes completed in our new warehouse facility\nOur vision to shine forth is bright and full of promise. The farm will continue to expand food\nproduction\, offer enrichment classes for all ages and backgrounds\, deepen community engagement\,\nand grow our volunteer program. We invite you to join our 2026 Harvest Shining Forth Gala as a valued\nsponsor and partner in lighting our path forward.
