The classic tales of staying young, finding the holiday spirit and finding oneself are part of the 2024-25 lineup for the Alvin Community College Drama program.
The season will open with performances of Peter and the Star Catcher this Fall followed by Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol in December. Peter and the Starcatcher performances will be October 12, 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2:30 p.m. performance on October 13.
This theatrical and imaginative origin story of Peter Pan is a great way to kick off our season,” ACC Theatre director Chris Tennison said. “This story celebrates magic, friendship, and adventure  It is a great play for the dreamer in all of us.”
The holiday production of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol is an adaptation from Tom Mula of the classic tale from a different perspective. Performances will be December 7, 12-14 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance on December 8 at 2:30 p.m.
“This play follows Jacob Marley on his quest to redeem his old business partner Ebenezer Scrooge,” Tennison said. “Audiences will find this play funny, haunting, moving, and an anthem to humanity.  We think this is a perfect piece to ring in the Christmas season with your family.”

The Summer Children’s Theatre Festival will start on June 24.
“As we celebrate the 40th year of our summer children's theatre festival, we are both looking back and looking forward,” Tennison said. “The (Almost) Totally True Story of Hansel and Gretel is a fun and wacky retelling of the classic fairy tale. The second production, A Wrinkle In Time is an inventive adaptation of the classic book that will be a moving and adventure-filled experience for young and old alike.”
