Three Alvin College Board of Regents members took the oath of office during a swearing-in ceremony on May 12.
Regents Kam Marvel, Darren Shelton and Mike Pyburn took the oath for positions 4, 5, and 6 respectively. All will serve six year terms.
Shelton and Pyburn were reelected to their positions. Marvel took over the position vacated by former regent and Vice Chair Jody Droege who decided not to seek reelection after 12 years on the board.
Marvel is returning to the board after he served from 2018 to 2024.
The board elected new officers following the oath of office. ‘Bel Sanchez was named chair, Dr. Jim Crumm was named vice chair and Dr. Patty Hertenberger was named secretary.
