Alvin College President Named to Board of National Entrepreneurship Association
Pursuing a voice on the discussion about the future of entrepreneur education , Alvin College President Dr. Robert J. Exley was recently named to the board of directors for the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE).
NACCE is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship through community colleges by providing resources and support to build and sustain high-impact entrepreneurship programs.
Joining the NACCE board of directors is a tremendous opportunity to both learn about what is on the horizon for entrepreneurial endeavors and to help shape policies for future generations.
“I am excited to join this board, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on how we can improve opportunities for entrepreneurs and provide the education they need to succeed in their ventures,” Dr. Exley said.
A proud community college graduate, Dr. Exley became Alvin College’s seventh president in 2021. Prior to that he was president at Snead State College in Boaz, Alabama. He has served as president at Parkland College, Illinois, vice president of Academic Affairs at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa as well as several administrative positions with Miami-Dade College.
Dr. Exley received his Associate of Arts degree from San Jacinto College, his BA and MS from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. In May 2007, Dr. Exley was named a Distinguished Graduate of the University of Texas at Austin's Community College Leadership Program in recognition of his national contribution to American Community Colleges.
