Chenango Angleton, TX On November 4, the City of Angleton will host an energy symposium discussing Gambit Energy Storage Park and the security it provides to our electrical grid, including remarks from Mayor Jason Perez, Brazoria County Judge Matt Sebesta, State Representative Cody Vasut, and President of Brazoria County Economic Development Alliance Gary Basinger. Private innovation and investment in our electrical grid will continue to play an integral role in the efficacy of our transmission capacity – especially as we continue to modernize our generation and storage capacity. The City of Angleton is proud to be a leader in implementing next generation technologies to generate and store energy for our residents. From homegrown local start-ups to investments like the Gambit Energy Storage Park, the City of Angleton is committed to securing safe, reliable, and available energy solutions for our residents. Energy Symposium Mayor Jason Perez, City of Angleton 9 AM November 4 City of Angleton City Hall https://angleton.tx.us/445/Meeting-Videos About Participants: Mayor Jason Perez, City of Angleton Jason Perez was elected to serve as the Mayor of Angleton, Texas, in 2017, whose leadership since then has moved the city forward on several projects, including modernizing roads and infrastructure, alongside lowering the city property tax rate. Prior to serving as mayor, Mr. Perez, served as an Angleton Councilmember for eight years and as an Angleton Area Emergency Response Specialist and Emergency Medical Corps Paramedic. Brazoria County Judge Matt Sebesta, Jr. As County Judge, Matt Sebesta presides over the Commissioners’ Court and currently serves as Brazoria County Chief Administrator. In addition to his role in the county’s judicial system, Judge Sebesta serves as the county’s Director of Emergency Management. Judge Sebesta is the current Chairman for the Lower Brazos River Coalition, which manages conservation efforts for the Brazos River, and serves as Vice President of Policy on the Policy Council of the Conference of Urban Counties State Representative Cody Vasut (R-TX-HD 25) Recently elected to represent Brazoria and Matagorda Counties in the Texas House of Representatives, State Rep. Vasut also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pregnancy Help Center of Brazosport. After spending eight years as an attorney for Baker Hostetler, State Rep. Vasut was elected to the Angleton City Council in 2016, where he committed to being a champion for pro-manager growth, fiscal stewardship, and limited government. As a 7 th generation Texan and 5th generation resident of Angleton, State Rep. Vasut is proud of his dedication to supporting the livelihoods of his constituents in the statehouse. President Brazoria County Economic Development Alliance Gary Basinger Gary began his career in Economic Development in 1992. He has been at The Alliance since April 2008. Early in his career Gary was a cotton farmer in the Lubbock area. Gary is a 1980 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Agronomy and a 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Economics.
