Matt Rascon, a seasoned journalist with nearly 15 years in broadcast news, covering everything
from natural disasters to political scandals. He began in radio before moving to TV in Utah,
where he hosted a national show on BYUtv. An Emmy-winning reporter, Matt has worked in
major markets like San Diego, Boston, and Salt Lake City—where he launched the city’s first
digital-only news show and podcast. In 2024, he covered the Paris Olympics for NBC News and
most recently anchored the 4 p.m. news in Cleveland. He now leads Rascon Media Group, a
Houston-based communications firm.
Jacob Rascon, an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist, joined KHOU 11 in
2025. His reporting career began during the Arab Spring in Cairo and spans major global and
national events—from the 2010 Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Harvey to mass shootings,
cartel trials, and the 2016 presidential campaign. He has reported from nearly every U.S. state
and multiple continents, and previously worked for NBC News and local stations in Los Angeles,
Houston, and El Paso.
