Brazosport Cares Food and Resource Fair

, Brazosport Cares Food Pantry hosts a Community Food and Resource Fair.  The goal of the event is two fold.  First, we are working to bring in more fresh produce into our community which is defined as a food desert.  We accomplish this by partnering with the Houston Food Bank and distributing 8,000 pounds of fresh produce at the event.  The food acts as a catalyst to bring community members to the fair.  Our second goal is to connect fair participants with other social service agencies that may help them improve quality of life or move to self sufficiency.  At each fair we invite our community partners to have a table and to share their resources and programs with the fair participants.
