Brain Health Fair and Benefit
You are invited to participate in the Gathering Place and Alzheimer's Awareness Project's Brain Health Fair and Benefit that will be held in the main auditorium at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds on Sat., Sept. 13 from 9 am until 2:30 pm.
The Health Fair is devoted to health and wellness and will include healthcare providers, exercise and cooking demonstrations, gyms and recreation centers, and a few craft tables where people may be taught a new hobby.
Live entertainment will be offered from 9 until noon, and BBQ chicken plates will be sold from 11 to 1 pm. Five area Catholic Daughter Courts will provide a Baked Goods Sale--a huge hit from last year.
In the kitchen, we'll have Coffee Klatches with several area doctors.
The Live Auction will begin at noon with celebrity auctioneer Jarrod Smith.
We're gearing up for 1200 people at lunch, and we will be advertising this countywide event in all area newspapers, the Chronicle, and in Bay City.
Net proceeds will benefit the Gathering Place, an all-volunteer organization that provides free socials 32 hours each month to give caregivers much-needed breaks. One of our educational outreaches is the Brazoria County Alzheimer's Awareness Project, a partnership with the Brazoria County Health Department.
